Drug Uses
Diflucan is used in the treatment of fungal infections called candidiasis and some instances of the condition are Oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis and Cryptococcal meningitis.
The drug may also be prescribed to reduce the incidence of candidiasis in people undergoing bone marrow transplant.
How it is taken
Diflucan is available in both capsule as well as liquid form. If you are taking the liquid, then shake it well to mix it evenly.
Take the drug at the same time everyday and continue to take it for the entire length of treatment to gain full benefits.
Missed Dosage
If you miss a dose of Diflucan, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
A Diflucan overdose may lead to symptoms like Confusion, hallucinations, paranoia, decreased movement, decreased breathing, tearing eyes, drooling; urinary incontinence, seizures, and death in extreme cases. Seek medical attention immediately if you suspect an overdose.
